“I’m Albertine, and I’ve had a passion for horses since I was a little girl.”
When I was 7 I finally got to go to riding lessons, and by the age of 10 I already had a pony to look after. After secondary school I did, among other things, the Manager Paardenhouderij (horse husbandry manager) course at the Groenhorstcollege in Barneveld. In 2011 I finally bought my own horse, a piebald Friesian! After a long time at a cosy boarding stable, my horse and Shetland pony moved to a paddock close to home.
I soon noticed how much benefit there is in eating hay slowly: calmer, healthier and with less hay waste.
The slow feeders I could find didn't appeal to me: they were hard to fill, or the net stayed open at the top, so most of the effect was lost.
So I developed the Easy Slowfeeder from everyday practice, with help from my handy father (formerly a goldsmith).
